The Cost of Project Management

He points that, according to surveys, the costs of project management range from 0.5% to 2% of the project total costs, and that, even though many people consider 1% to be expensive, when any error arises from the lack of an adequate management, the correcting costs are much higher than just 1%.

Gostei muito deste postcast, vejo que as empresas no meu ponto de vista tem a visão de ser somente “agil” não levando a sério um gerenciamento de projetos. Como Ricardo falou, depois acaba gastando muito mais para resolver problemas do que se gastasse fazendo um bom planejamento.

Muito legal esse podcast, pois o custo de administração, ou no caso, gestão do projeto sempre é alvo de críticas e nem sempre é percebido pelo cliente/patrocinador. A maioria de nós sabemos quanto custa administrar, mas quanto custa NÃO ADMINISTRAR? Isso ninguém sabe, ao menos não antes dos problemas e desembolsos extas acontecerem.

I think that the cost of project management cannot be expressed in terms of a percentage for all project sizes. I think for smaller projects the percentage is higher…
